Supporting STEM Education in Northern New Mexico
New Mexico’s “monsoon season” is responsible for about half of our annual precipitation. But why does New Mexico have a monsoon? Why does it start and end at particular times of the year? Why does it vary? How is it changing? This talk will address these questions and more as the mechanisms behind the monsoon are explored. Mini-lessons in meteorology will be distributed throughout the talk, and beautiful time-lapse photography of clouds is promised.
